A little about Peggy

I am freelance writer and longtime writing coach and facilitator, working with ages 7-97 (at least currently). I have been self-employed as "Writer at Large" since 2004, after a professional career in technical writing and educational outreach. I am lead teacher with Sara Yamasaki's Moving Words Writing Clinics, offering Ballard Satellite Clinics since 2018. I work one-on-one with children and adults, specializing in memoir support for adults. I facilitate a writing group at Cancer Lifeline, write an ongoing (formerly weekly) column for Westside Seattle and am co-author of the non-fiction book "Out of Nowhere." Founder of the Ballard Writer's Collective I've been dubbed "Ballard's Literary Provocateur"  and now curate the It's About Time Writers' Reading Series, in partnership with Seattle Public Library (now on YouTube and podcast). I'm also involved in an oral history project for King County's 4Culture. I can't resist writing book reviews, or looking up words in the two volume abridged OED.

Hear a mother daughter story

Having pushed others to audition for the inaugural year of "Listen To Your Mother-Seattle" Peggy figured she had nothing to lose by signing up to audition in 2016. Nothing to lose but more to gain than expected! http://listentoyourmothershow.com/seattle/
